Good to speak with you today. Thanks again for agreeing to help out
with our in-service for mid-level law enforcement executives. We are
calling the program Current leadership Issues for Mid-Level Executives
(CLIME): Kentucky Homeland Security. Essentially, it is the same
program we did three times for chiefs and sheriffs last April. You,
General Bailey and some of your Area managers were a tremendous help in
passing along information related to Emergency Management capabilities
and how it its mission integrates with homeland security.
CLIME will be done twice at Barren River State Resort Park in Lucas, KY.
Thursday afternoon, Oct. 5, 1300 to 1500 hours, we would like you or
someone from your office conduct a class about Kentucky's Division of
Emergency Management. The following week on Thursday Oct. 12 we'd like
you to do the program for the second time.
Class objectives might include the following:
-Identify the mission of the Kentucky Division of Emergency Management.
1. -Identify the Kentucky Division of
Emergency Management's organizational components and their functions.
2. -Discuss Emergency Management's role in
the overall context of Homeland Security.
3. -Identify emergency situations that
have occurred in Kentucky in the past.
As follow-on to the Emergency Management update, from 1500 to 1700 hours
on the same days (Oct. 5 and Oct. 12) we again would like to have a
hands-on display of Area 4 equipment and capabilities and discussion of
protective equipment similar to what Tony Keithley arranged for last
April. We would start out in the classroom at 1500 hours and move out
to the equipment display to finish the day. Telling and showing what is
available to law enforcement agencies was a big hit with the chiefs and
sheriffs last April.
Our audience consists of lieutenants, captains and majors. The first
class has 70+ students; the second has 55+ students.
Thanks for all your help, past and present. Regards to Gen. Bailey.
If there is anybody that would be able to help out with this please let
me know as soon as possible. We will be taking all of the DARRT 4
equipment that day. I am going to need some help getting the equipment
there and setting it up.
Thanks,
Brian Geringswald
